Moving a perturbation across quantum dots: tuning of Fano resonances
We propose a controllable way of tuning Fano resonances in open quantum dots in the absence of magnetic field. A quantum dot can be modified by changing the gate voltages that define the dot itself. An extra degree of freedom can be introduced by means of a controllable repulsive perturbation, such as the one induced by scanning a Atomic Force Microscope tip on a real sample. We numerically inv...
متن کاملLifetime of the Wannier-Stark resonances and perturbation theory
We consider the small field asymptotics of the ladder lifetime for a single ladder model. Using the convergent perturbation series, we prove that the behavior of the lifetime computed by means of the Fermi Golden Rule is proportional to the correct one with the factor ( π 3 )2 . The relation with usual adiabatic problems is briefly discussed.
متن کاملChiral Extrapolation of Light Resonances from Unitarized Chiral Perturbation Theory
Both scalar and vector light resonances can be generated from the unitarization of one-loop chiral perturbation theory. This amounts to using in a dispersion relation the chiral expansion, which incorporates the correct QCD quark mass dependence. We can thus predict the quark mass dependence of the poles associated to those light resonances. Our results compare well with some recent lattice res...
متن کاملS-wave Kπ scattering in chiral perturbation theory with resonances
We present a detailed analysis of S-waveKπ scattering up to 2 GeV, making use of the resonance chiral Lagrangian predictions together with a suitable unitarisation method. Our approach incorporates known theoretical constraints at low and high energies. The present experimental status, with partly conflicting data from different experiments, is discussed. Our analysis allows to resolve some exp...
متن کاملPerturbation Theory and Atomic Resonances Since Schrödinger’s Time
Abstract. Quantum theory makes a sharp distinction between bound states and scattering states, the former associated with point spectrum and the latter with continuous spectrum. Resonances associated with quasi-stationary states bridge this distinction, and have posed mathematical challenges since the beginning of the Schrödinger theory. Here the development of mathematical aspects of resonance...
